National Suicide Prevention Month
Each year in September, we commemorate National Suicide Prevention Month, Week (September 6-11), and Day (September 10). To encourage awareness about suicide prevention this month, FailSafe for Life is offering opportunities for action, education, and connection through various events.

FailSafe for Life Kindness Campaign In an effort to encourage connection in our community, FailSafe for Life will be participating in random acts of kindness this week. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see what we're up to, and pay it forward with your own acts of kindness! Download our kindness campaign cards and tag us and include the hashtag #IAMFAILSAFE for a chance to win a prize!
Krispy Kreme “Raise Some Dough” Fundraiser We are partnering with Krispy Kreme doughnuts to raise some funds for suicide prevention! How it works: Purchase a dozen (or three!) doughnuts for $11 each, we send you a digital gift card via email to share with others or use at your convenience. Half of all purchases go directly toward suicide prevention activities in the Spokane area. To purchase your dozen, register here. What better way to spread some kindness than to purchase a dozen doughnuts for someone you care about!
World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10)
Movie and a Mission: The S Word To celebrate World Suicide Prevention Day and wrap up our kindness campaign, FailSafe for Life is bringing the film, “The S Word,” to the Spokane Community. If you want to learn more about suicide prevention and resources, including alternatives that reach outside the box, or if you have been touched by suicide in some way, this film is for you. This film was made to encourage being able to talk openly about suicide without judgement, shame or discrimination, and to get the community thinking about suicide in a different way-to see the complexity, pain and even humor of our survivors. This screening is being hosted by the Prevent Suicide Spokane Coalition in partnership with FailSafe for Life. Tickets are free, we hope you’ll join us!!
ASIST Suicide Intervention Workshop (September 23 & 24)
ASIST is a two-day intensive, interactive, and practice dominated course designed by LivingWorks to help caregivers recognize and review risk, and intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. It is by far, the most widely used, acclaimed, and researched suicide intervention training workshop in the world. This workshop typically costs $295 per person, but thanks to our incredible supporters and donors, FailSafe for Life is able to offer this to the community at $50 per person.
